Tuam Community Training Centre has secured funding from the Probation
Service to increase our service delivery to include the provision of a
Restorative Justice Service. The initial counties selected for this
service include; Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon. We are now recruiting
for a Restorative Justice Project Worker to develop and deliver this
service.
Restorative Justice is an approach that brings those harmed by crime
and those responsible for the harm into communication with each other,
enabling everyone affected by a particular incident to play a part in
repairing the harm and finding a positive way forward.
_Restorative Justice gives victims an opportunity to be heard and to
have their say in resolving the harm caused to them. _
_For people who have offended, Restorative Justice provides an
opportunity for them to face the consequences of their actions and
recognise the impact of their offending behaviour. _
